MyBioSource.com's Anti-IL33 Picoband Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody. This antibody has been shown to work in applications such as: ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, and Western Blot. The Anti-IL33 Picoband Antibody was generated using IL-33, IL33, and Interleukin 33 as the antigen and it reacts with Human.
Description
Description: Interleukin 33 (IL-33) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IL33 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that binds to the IL1RL1/ST2 receptor. The encoded protein is involved in the maturation of Th2 cells and the activation of mast cells, basophils, eosinophils and natural killer cells. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Protein Function: Cytokine that binds to and signals through the IL1RL1/ST2 receptor which in turn activates NF-kappa-B and MAPK signaling pathways in target cells (PubMed: 16286016). Involved in the maturation of Th2 cells inducing the secretion of T-helper type 2-associated cytokines. Also involved in activation of mast cells, basophils, eosinophils and natural killer cells. Acts as a chemoattractant for Th2 cells, and may function as an "alarmin", that amplifies immune responses during tissue injury (PubMed: 17853410, PubMed: 18836528)
